Community Guidelines

Effective: 25 April 2026

UNIPIA Community is a premium space built for verified UK university students. To preserve the quality and safety of our community, all members must follow these Guidelines.

Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban without notice.

By using the Service, you agree to abide by these Guidelines and our Terms of Service.

1. Respect & Civility

1.1 Treat every member with courtesy and dignity, regardless of background, beliefs, or opinion.

1.2 Constructive disagreement is welcome; personal attacks, insults, and ad hominem arguments are not.

1.3 Tone matters — sarcasm and "edgy" humour can cross into harassment. When in doubt, don't post it.

2. Zero Tolerance for Hate Speech & Discrimination

2.1 We do not allow content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.

2.2 Slurs, dehumanising language, and stereotypes will result in immediate removal and may lead to permanent ban.

3. No Harassment, Bullying, or Stalking

3.1 Targeted harassment, threats, intimidation, doxxing, or coordinated attacks against individuals are strictly prohibited.

3.2 Repeatedly contacting someone after they have asked you to stop, or using multiple accounts to evade blocks, will result in permanent ban.

4. No Sexual Content or Nudity

4.1 Explicit sexual content, nudity, sexualised images of minors (including AI-generated), and solicitation of sexual services are strictly forbidden and will be reported to the appropriate authorities.

4.2 Even consensual adult content is not permitted on UNIPIA — this is a community for academic and social engagement, not adult content.

5. No Violence, Threats, or Self-Harm

5.1 Do not post content that depicts, promotes, or glorifies violence, terrorism, or self-harm.

5.2 If you or someone you know is struggling, contact the Samaritans (UK: 116 123) or your university counselling service.

6. No Misinformation or Academic Dishonesty

6.1 Do not spread false or misleading information, particularly regarding health, safety, elections, or academic matters.

6.2 Do not promote, request, or share content that facilitates academic misconduct (e.g. essay mills, exam cheating, paid coursework, contract cheating).

6.3 Plagiarism and copyright infringement will result in content removal and may be reported to your university.

7. No Privacy Violations

7.1 Do not share personal information (full names, addresses, phone numbers, photos, screenshots of conversations) about others without their explicit consent.

7.2 Do not "out" or share private information about another person's identity, sexuality, immigration status, or medical conditions.

8. No Spam, Self-Promotion, or Manipulation

8.1 Do not post repetitive, unsolicited, or low-quality content.

8.2 No advertising, affiliate links, multi-level marketing, cryptocurrency promotion, or solicitation of goods/services without prior written consent from UNIPIA.

8.3 Do not manipulate engagement (vote brigading, fake accounts, coordinated inauthentic behaviour).

9. No Illegal Activity

9.1 Do not post content that promotes, facilitates, or organises illegal activity, including but not limited to drug use, weapons trafficking, fraud, or piracy.

9.2 Content depicting or promoting underage drinking, drug use, or other illegal activities by students will be removed.

10. Channel-Specific Rules

10.1 Each channel may have additional rules set by its administrators or community guidelines visible at the top of the channel.

10.2 Channel administrators have the authority to moderate content within their channels.

11. Respect Intellectual Property

11.1 Do not post content that infringes copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights.

11.2 Give credit where due. If reposting, attribute the original creator.

12. Reporting Violations

12.1 If you encounter content that violates these Guidelines, use the in-app Report function.

12.2 Our moderation team reviews all reports within 24 hours. Serious violations are escalated immediately.

12.3 False or malicious reports may result in restrictions on your account.

13. Consequences of Violation

Violations are handled on a case-by-case basis. Possible consequences include:

  • Content removal
  • Warning
  • Temporary suspension (24 hours to 30 days)
  • Permanent account ban
  • Reporting to your university or law enforcement (where applicable)
  • Legal action

We reserve the right to take any action we deem necessary to protect the community, without prior notice or right of appeal.

14. Appeals

If you believe your content was removed or your account was suspended in error, you may appeal by contacting info@unipia.business within 14 days. Decisions on appeals are final.

15. Updates to These Guidelines

We may update these Guidelines from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
